2 Chronicles 18 – Jehoshaphat’s Unwise Alliance with Ahab

 

Summary:

• Jehoshaphat allies himself with Ahab, king of Israel, by marriage and agrees to go to war with him.

• Before battle, Jehoshaphat seeks a prophet of Yah. Micaiah is summoned and prophesies defeat, revealing a vision of lying spirits sent to deceive Ahab.

• Ahab ignores the warning, disguises himself, and is killed in battle—just as Micaiah said.
