• Prosperity apart from devotion can lead to compromise, as Solomon’s later life shows.

• As a result, the ten northern tribes rebel—only Judah and Benjamin stay loyal.
• The united monarchy officially divides.

• His reign is secure for three years as he follows Yah.
Reflection:
• Obedience to Yah—even when it’s hard—brings peace.
• Unity with Yah is more important than political power or control.
2 Chronicles 12 – Rehoboam’s Decline and Humbling
Summary:
• Once Rehoboam is established, he and Judah forsake Yah’s law.
• Egypt invades; Rehoboam humbles himself and Yah relents, sparing Judah total destruction.
• Still, they become subject to Egypt, losing wealth and honor.
Reflection:
• Prosperity can lead to spiritual laziness.
• Yah honors repentance—but disobedience still has consequences.
