Today’s Reading (May 14th) 2 Chronicles 13-17
2 Chronicles 13 – Abijah’s Bold Stand
Summary:
• Abijah, king of Judah, confronts Jeroboam of Israel with a bold declaration: “Yah is our Elohim, and we have not forsaken Him.”
• Though Judah is outnumbered, they rely on Yah, and He grants them a great victory.
• Jeroboam is weakened; Abijah grows stronger and reigns three years.
Reflection:
• Yah honors those who trust in Him, even when outnumbered.
• Abijah’s moment of faith teaches that true strength lies not in armies but in allegiance to Yah.

Summary:
• Asa, Abijah’s son, reigns and does what is right in Yah’s eyes.
• He removes idols, commands Judah to seek Yah, and enjoys peace for ten years.

Reflection:
• Righteous leadership brings rest, and spiritual reform brings protection.
• Asa shows that relying on Yah, not numbers, leads to lasting peace and deliverance.
2 Chronicles 15 – Revival Under Asa
Summary:
• The prophet Azariah tells Asa to stay strong, promising Yah will be with him if he remains with Yah.
• Asa takes courage, removes idols, repairs the altar, and leads Judah into covenant renewal.
• The people rejoice, and Yah gives rest all around.
Reflection:
• Revival requires courage to confront sin and lead others toward righteousness.
• When hearts are wholly His, Yah surrounds His people with peace.
2 Chronicles 16 – Asa’s Decline and Pride
Summary:
• In his later years, Asa leans on political alliances instead of trusting Yah.
• When confronted by Hanani the seer, Asa becomes angry, imprisons him, and oppresses people.
• Even in illness, Asa seeks doctors but not Yah, and he dies after 41 years of rule.
Reflection:
